Elon Musk Buys Twitter for $44B On 25 April 2022

Twitter said Monday that it has decided to sell itself to SpaceX and Tesla CEO in a $44 billion offer that may extend the billionaire’s corporate empire and put the world’s richest man in the power of one of the number one social networks.

The agreement, which will take the company private, comes at the end of a dizzying month in which the Elon Musk became one of Twitter’s top owners, was offered and declined a seat on its board, and made an offer to purchase the company – all in less than a month.

According to the terms of the agreement, stockholders would get $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter stock they own, matching Musk’s original offer and representing a 38% premium above the current price.
