Mortal Kombat 1: Releasing September 2023

Mortal Kombat 1 has been officially revealed with a new trailer, showcasing its rebooted world.

The game will be a complete reimagining of the franchise, featuring familiar characters in a world created by Liu Kang, the ascended Fire God.

NetherRealm Studios has revamped the characters' backstories, motivations, designs, and abilities while maintaining the series' bloody battles and gory fatalities.

Players can expect brutal gameplay elements like cutting villains in half, smashing heads, slicing throats, and knife-punching through meat and tissue.

The game will offer an immersive cinematic narrative with unexpected twists on classic rivalries and original backstories for the diverse cast of legendary fighters.

A new Kameo Fighters system will introduce partner characters that can assist players during matches, expanding the gameplay possibilities.

Guest characters like Homelander (The Boys), Peacemaker (The Suicide Squad), and Conan the Barbarian are rumored to appear in the game.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Special Editions of the game will be available, including the Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and Kollector's Edition, each offering different content and bonuses.

Preorders for all editions open worldwide on May 19, 2023, with access to the beta and fighter Shang Tsung as preorder bonuses.
