Last updated on March 14th, 2024 at 04:48 am

The eagerly awaited Surface Pro 10, expected to make its debut either towards the end of 2023 or the start of 2024, is set to embody this progression with its pair of displays, a dramatically improved central processing unit, more streamlined framing, a 120Hz refresh rate, and the inclusion of a processor from Intel's state-of-the-art 13th-gen Raptor Lake series. With an entry price point projected at around £750, Microsoft strives to provide a heightened user experience complemented by optimal connectivity, an aspect significantly improved by the integration of 5G support, a strong feature of its forerunner, the Surface Pro 9.

  • How much will it cost?
    • Configurations with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage might be around $1,249 to $1,349.
    • Models with 32GB RAM and 2TB storage could reach upwards of $2,000 or even higher.

  • Spring/Summer 2024 window: Several credible sources, such as Windows Central and Thurrott.com, report a potential announcement and launch. They expect it to happen between late April and early July.

  • Possible commercial update before launch: A commercial update might be earlier in the year, such as on March 21st. It might introduce a “Surface Pro 9+” as a bridge before the Surface Pro 10.

Surface Pro 10 Price

Again, the pricing of recent Surface Pro devices is a useful guide for the Pro 10. The Surface Pro 9 starts at $899 for the Intel model and $1,299 for the 5G model.

The Surface Pro 8 starts at $1,099 for the Intel model and $1,299 for the 5G model. The Surface Pro 7 starts at $749 for the Intel model and $899 for the 5G model.

The Surface Pro 6 starts at $699 for the Intel model and $799 for the 5G model.

  • Surface Pro 9 (Intel) – from $999.99/£1,099.99
  • Surface Pro 9 (5G) – from $1,299.99/£1,299
  • Surface Pro 8 – from $1,099/£999
  • Surface Pro 7 – from $749/£799
  • Surface Pro 6 – from $699/£749

As you can see, prices have been rising steadily in the last few years.

Base Model Price:

  • Expect the starting price to be slightly higher than the Surface Pro 9, which currently starts at $899.
  • A reasonable estimate for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage could be around $949 or $999.

Higher Configurations:

  • As RAM, storage, and processor options increase, so will the price.
  • Configurations with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage might be around $1,249 to $1,349.
  • Models with 32GB RAM and 2TB storage could reach upwards of $2,000 or even higher.

Rumors suggest a new 11-inch model might be released. It could be much cheaper than the 13-inch version.

Just remember, the prices usually quoted are just for the tablet. Adding the Type Cover keyboard to the Pro 9 (a required purchase to get the most out of it) will cost at least $129.99.

The full experience, including a stylus, costs $299.99.

Keeping the same accessories on the Pro 10 makes sense. Hopefully, this year a Type Cover will be included in the price. It’s already expensive. hahaha

Microsoft Surface Pro 10 Specs and Design

MICROSOFT-SURFACE-PRO-9
MICROSOFT-SURFACE-PRO

The release date for the Microsoft Surface Pro 10 is uncertain. But, we expect it to be sometime in late 2023. The Surface Pro 9 underwent notable changes. We have some predictions, but nothing is certain.

  • Display: The 13-inch PixelSense™ Display with 2880×1920 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate might stick around but with potential improvements like HDR support and brighter overall brightness.
  • Connectivity: 5G connectivity options are likely to continue, while Wi-Fi 6E support could be added as well.
  • Processor: The Surface Pro 10 is rumored to boast the latest 2024 Intel chips, possibly 14th Gen or Core Ultra, and Qualcomm X Series processors. This suggests significant performance upgrades compared to its predecessors.
  • Next-Gen NPU: We expect a next-generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It will further enhance AI capabilities for image recognition and natural language processing tasks.
  • RAM and Storage: Configurations like the Surface Pro 9 are likely. They will have options for 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM. Storage space will range from 256GB to 2TB.

The Surface Pro 10 is expected to be an iterative update, but could we see two models for the first time? That’s what Zac Bowden says in an April 2023 Windows Central article, with a new 11-inch model joining the existing 13-inch version.

The Surface Pro 10 would have slimmer bezels. However, this change wouldn’t be huge for the line. The first two generations of Surface Pro had a 10.6-inch screen.

Bowden says the 11-inch Surface Pro would include premium features. It would have a 120Hz display and be more powerful than the Go 4. The latter will almost come from new processors.

The upcoming processors will be part of Intel’s 13th-gen Raptor Lake range. You can choose between Core i5 or i7 options.

The Pro 9 uses U-series chips from Intel. These chips are not the most powerful. Yet, they still provide excellent performance for everyday tasks.

Things are less clear on the ARM side, although we may still see an update to the SQ3 chip found in the Pro 9.

That’s based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, so it’s logical to expect something based on the upcoming 8cx Gen 4.

But, Qualcomm may not launch it in time. Microsoft will likely keep 5G support exclusive to the ARM model. The NPU will be included in the Intel versions. As discussed above.

That would enable some useful video calling features introduced on the Pro 9.

An SQ4 processor enables faster USB4 standard, not supported by Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.
